We actively support
and participate in several Church and
community outreach programs. We support
the local food bank. We also provide
assistance to countries such as Nicaragua,
school supplies to the children of Kosovo
and Christmas shoe boxes for children
in developing countries.
A breakfast club program,
sponsored by the Hastings Public School
Council, is held in the Trinity United
Church hall. Monetary and food donations
from community individuals help to support
the program. The staff are made up of
community volunteers.
Our Church launched
the Dale Robbins Hope Fund with an inaugural
concert in March of 1994. The fund began
as assistance to Dale and his family
when he was ill with cancer. Musical
events are held each year to keep the
fund sustained and to assist others
through difficult times due to an illness
within their family. Many in the village
and surrounding areas have received
such assistance. There is always HOPE
when community members love and help
one another through their difficult
times.
One's and Two's
is an Ecumenical group that meets in
the evening at the Church hall on the
first Sunday of each month. It began
as a couples club in 1972 when Dr. Green
was our Minister, and the first leaders
were George and Jessie Richardson. We
entertain ourselves with music, cards,
speakers and lunches. Everyone is welcome
to join in for fun and friendship. The
cost is one dollar which we donate to
charities and victims of disaster within
the community and beyond.
