Thanksgiving and Anniversary Greetings 2009
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about hour life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?” (Matt 6:25)

The beauty of this season surrounds us now, with leaves painted in colours of beauty for the autumn season, and cool mist and fog surrounding our countryside in the early hours. With the advent of the autumn season we move into our time of thanksgiving and anniversary celebration on the Hastings Roseneath pastoral charge.

Thanksgiving is a time in Canada when we celebrate the abundance of the harvest, and give thanks for the many blessings that we have.
Most of us are blessed with much bounty and of course at this time of year our gardens and the food markets team with abundancy.

Jesus encourages us to look at the “big picture”…to not be so concerned about our immediate needs, but to remember the things that really matter.
Family, friends, relationships, caring, and loving extended to others, are the things that really matter.

A closer walk with God, is also something that should matter to people.
During this season of gathering in Thanksgiving, I encourage one and all to consider your faith life and to give thanks to God for your life.
I also encourage you to attend your church for worship.
Your support gathering as a faith community, help one and all to put into true perspective that which really matters in our lives.

Yours in faith and service,
Jamie
