Hopefully you are able to enjoy some rest and relax in this warm summer weather.
Take a copy of my musings, pour a lemonade, settle under a tree, and enjoy a read on me.

I was out on the lake recently, paddling around and I had a unique experience.
Down in the bay was a mother loon, with two chicks. (gosling's?)

I didn't want to get too close, but close enough to get a nice look at them.

The chicks stayed close, and then momma cried out with that lovely loon sound we all know and love.
Next thing I knew there was a reply from daddy loon.
Daddy dove into the water...and then suddenly appeared within about 15 feet of the kayak.
The mother couldn't dive as loons would do, likely because the young weren't old enough yet to dive.

I got the message... get out of here buddy.

You could sense the protective care that the loons were providing for their young.

In much the same way, we look to our God for that protective care in times of danger and distress.

The Psalmist says, In Psalm 27
The Lord is my light and my salvation,
    whom shall I fear.
The Lord is the stronghold of my life
of whom shall I be afraid.

Doesn't matter what evildoers, adversaries and foes might do.
The Lord will always be there as that protective shelter, that spirit that gives us strength and
courage when times grow tough.

I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage.
    Wait for the Lord.

Wishing you God's blessing through the balance of the week.

Hope to see you Sunday,

Prayer:
Ever creating God, you are seen in every aspect of our living and of our world.
For those with eyes to see you, you are everywhere, for all Creation is filled with your love.
In Jesus we see you face to face, and by your Spirit we experience your ongoing presence and care.
On this great day of summer, may we know your presence in and around and amongst us, as all your people.  Amen.
