            God of choices,
                    you give us the freedom to choose you in our lives, and yet, so
                          often we turn away from you.
            Forgive us for wanting to choose bread over stones,
                          for wanting power over surrender, for wanting protection over risk.
            Forgive us for putting your love to the test, for ingoring your freely
                          giving presence.
            Forgive us and surround us with your love, that we might choose your
                          realm as our own.
